An initial set of ceramic trees – Assembly of Departed Trees – was inspired by a small stand of dead trees in Darts Hill Garden, Surrey BC. The weathered lightness of the dead tree trunks declared their presence in the green understory. By continuing this series of sculptures, I contemplate further on presence of the absent.
