Willa Downing, Artist _______________________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________________ Wood Wide Web Acrylic, twig, yarn, mirror

This installation was inspired by the wood-wide-web, a term coined by Suzanne Simard to describe the underground mycorrhizal networks that enable trees to communicate with each other. In a similar way, embedded in the world, we are all part of an entangled web.

Exhibited in Darts Hill Garden exhibition Resplendent, Surrey BC, 2021.
